For Christmas, the Lidl retail chain has released an adorable commercial featuring a rather unusual raccoon.

An adorable spot in the Christmas spirit

In this short film, a raccoon emerges from a cardboard box with a Santa hat in his mouth. Curious, he observes the Christmas tree being put up in a neighboring house, before burrowing into the stump of a tree, surrounded by Lidl cardboard bags.

The spot already sets the tone for the festive season: the tree, tinsel, snow, costumes, and in the middle, an adorable little animal, fascinated by the enchantment all around it.

Intrigued by all the commotion, the raccoon goes to keep an eye on the family, only to be pursued by the family dog. As he tries to escape, he is almost run over by the mother, on her bike, who is returning from shopping at Lidl, where she has bought the last of the Christmas essentials.

A great way to play with your emotions this holiday season, and share in the store's wide range of decorative products.

By putting the magic of Christmas in the spotlight, Lidl is promoting all its exclusive holiday products.

A spot to promote its new toys

After nearly being run over on his bike, the raccoon comes across a stuffed monkey, bought by the mother at Lidl for her son this holiday season, and lost on the road.

Throughout the spot, the animal tries to bring the lost toy back to the house he lives opposite. After many pitfalls, and having to brave the dangers of the city, the animal finally drops it off at the foot of the Christmas tree, in a heart-rending farewell. In the end, he escapes at full speed, pursued by the dog. The child in the house discovers the stuffed animal before his mother's astonished eyes.

It's hard not to fall in love with this raccoon's adventures, with this spot that you'll devour right to the end.

An adorable way for Lidl to promote two cuddly toys, in the shape of the two animals, which they are putting on sale for Christmas. A lovely gift for youngsters.

Produced by The&Partnership agency, the store aims to highlight the wide range of products it offers consumers for this festive season, from decorations to gifts.

It was also a way for Lidl to announce the return of the Toy Bank toy drive for underprivileged children.
