To celebrate its 90th birthday, the famous airline Air France landed at the prestigious Galeries Lafayette for a temporary exhibition. This major event took off on September 28, and looks back at the history of the French brand.

90 years of elegance

When it comes to celebrating its 90th anniversary, Air France doesn't do things by halves.

Proudly born on October 7, 1933, the now nonagenarian airline's history has been marked by elegance, progress and technological innovation. These qualities were represented with finesse, art and haute-couture in this temporary exhibition at the illustrious Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann.

For this exhibition, the very best of Air France came together in Paris. The company called on the talented costume designer Xavier Ronze, head of the costume workshops for the Paris Opera ballets. He was able to propose a collection of unique dresses in the company's colors.

5 already emblematic dresses representing all the important points of Air France were displayed in showcases. We were able to observe its uniforms, which have become fashion icons, its aircraft and the technological advances in which Air France has participated, its vast network, represented in its legendary posters, its renowned gastronomy, and finally its sense of design and architecture.

To celebrate this event, a catalog of the exhibition has been inserted in the company's EnVols magazines. The bi-monthly is available at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports in the "October-November" edition. The magazine is available online, on the Air France Play application.

To accompany the presentation, several ephemeral boutiques opened around the exhibition. An opportunity to take home a unique souvenir of the anniversary.

Air France returns to its collections

Over the course of these two weeks, Air France looks back over the past 90 years, as well as the emblematic collections that have marked its history.

A range of exclusive items and re-editions are available for sale. Flat cases, magnets and other key-holders in the company's colors are ready for purchase. Models of the company's cult aircraft are also available.

A number of other collaborations also came to the fore. Limited-edition tote bags were designed with partner brands such as Densey and Vanessa Bruno.

Vian-tiran shawls, Cherbourg umbrellas and vintage Air France bags will also be on sale throughout the exhibition.

Profits from the exhibition will be donated to the Air France Foundation. An initiative launched thirty years ago to support disadvantaged and disabled children.

An effective promotional campaign that once again demonstrates the timeless elegance of the company that has put France on the world map.

It's with nostalgia that aircraft enthusiasts can look back on its nine-decade history. A celebration that reminds us of Air France's iconic status in the aviation world.
