Instagram has just launched broadcasts channels. Like Telegram, this new option enables privileged communication with your favorite content creators.

Channel broadcasts on Instagram have arrived in France

At the start of 2023, Instagram announced the arrival of broadcasts channels. Like Telegram, this new option enables privileged communication between content creators and their communities.

How does the Broadcasts Channel work?

Broadcasts are exchanged unilaterally. The channel creator is the only member of the group who can post. Although the community remains silent, it can interact with messages through reactions.

This new option was first tested in the U.S., but over the past few days, the content creators who make the headlines on the social network have been gradually creating their own broadcast channels. And what a surprise it was to see a message from Léna Situation in my inbox.

Broadcast channels: a good idea or a bad one?

In the last quarter of 2022, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri explained that he wanted to provide appropriate tools for interaction between content creators and their communities. It has to be said that the network is betting big on this. Fierce competition from TikTok is pushing Instagram to continually renew itself, and if there's one thing IG is better at than TikTok, it's interaction between creators and their followers.

For the moment, it's too early to say whether channel broadcasts really have a future on the network, but it's clear that this new option strengthens the sense of belonging among members of different communities.

Instagram, the changes to expect in 2023 :

In 2023, Instagram plans to enhance its content recommendations with AI, following the lead of Facebook. While this development comes as no surprise, it is drawing criticism. Last year, many users complained about this unsolicited feature, prompting Instagram to tone down its development. the AI was not yet perfected, and suggested content did not always match users' preferences. It is therefore highly likely that in 2023, Instagram will return with improved AI.

Content creators are in Instagram's sights. Considered the future of the platform, Instagram is looking to offer an ever more complete experience to these creators, exactly as it has begun to do with broadcasts channels.
