Mark Zuckerberg VS Elon Musk: the clash of the titans

Elon Musk posted on his social network that he would be "ready for a cage match" against Mark Zuckerberg.

Last June, Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and more recently of X, formerly Twitter, posted on his social network that he was "ready for a cage match" against Mark Zuckerberg, the famous founder of Facebook. This provocation was launched just after Meta, a new social network so similar to X, announced the release of Threads.

The feud could have ended there, except that Zuckerberg intends to fight his rival in the ring. The Meta CEO, who has a keen interest in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), replied: "All Elon Musk has to do is send me the location.

The Musk - Zuckerberg battle, a great publicity stunt

If at first glance, one might identify childishness in this war of camps, the result is aninteresting publicity stunt, spearheaded by Elon Musk. At the end of July, Twitter became X, a surprising change that didn't endear the social network's new president to the world. We can safely assume that this affront to Mark Zuckerberg, in reaction to the release of Threads, is just a roundabout way of bringing Internet users' attention back to X.

To fight or not to fight?

Elon Musk claimed that the fight would take place at the Colosseum in Rome. While the entrepreneur had hinted that he had already begun talks with the Italian authorities to organize the fight, the Italian Ministry of Culture clearly denied the information.

After this deliberate intoxication, Musk published a photo of himself in full training. Mark Zuckerberg's response came on Instagram, with the publication of a shot of him surrounded by UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) stars.

Although the excitement surrounding the fight died down in July, Elon Musk rekindled the flame by posting that he was "lifting weights in preparation for the fight". He also stated that the fight would be broadcast on X, with all proceeds going to charity.

For their part, the specialist media seem to agree that there will be no fight. Elon Musk is a master of virulent publicity.

Recently, the Newton platform explained:

"It's Musk's nature to make frequent and bold statements about his businesses, politics, the nature of conscience, and so on, all of which are irresistible to editors."

What's more, Musk also explained that he will need shoulder surgery following the fight. In short, it's doubtful that the billionaire will be fit enough to take on the fight.

Whether it's a publicity stunt or a genuine desire to fight, the war between Threads and X is well and truly declared.
