Threads: the social network finally arrives in France

Threads, Meta's new social network, is finally about to hit the French market.

Threads, Meta's new social network, is finally about to hit the French market.

Last July, the Threads bombshell completely exploded the social media landscape. Although the application was only supposed to be available in the United States, hundreds of thousands of Europeans managed to bypass the system and download Threads. The result? In just one week, the social network had over 100 million users.

Threads: what are they?

This summer, the application was widely criticized for its blatant resemblance to X, and we can only understand. With its similar interface and equivalent use, it's hard to understand where Threads' added value lies.

Threads VS X

Meta was smart on this one. While Twitter was going X, and the twittosphere was crying out in dismay over the changes to the application, Threads was slowly winning back users from the old blue bird. The Musk - Zuckerberg war went so far that the two men planned to duel in the ring. A wild story that kept us entertained and enthralled all summer long. For our part, we were unable to take sides. It has to be said that between Elon's genius and Mark's intelligence, our hearts sway.

Threads: official French release scheduled for December

After months and months of anticipation, Threads is due for release in France this month. In an article, the Wall Street Journal announced the arrival of Threads in France.

Threads: the RGPD-compliant application at last?

If the application took so long to see the light of day in France, it's because of its non-compliance with European regulations. Among the shortcomings singled out were data collection and sharing between applications in the Meta group. It goes without saying that if Threads is finally available on French stores at the end of 2023, it will only be because Meta has aligned itself with European laws.

Threads, what's the release date?

While the Wall Street Journal has indeed announced the app's release, Meta has yet to confirm it. We don't understand why the American newspaper would launch such a hoax, but without confirmation from Meta, it's hard to be sure that Threads will actually see the light of day in France this year.
