Instagram: a horoscope sticker and a new sharing option in the works

Instagram is testing new ways to interact with creators' content, offering a new sharing option and a horoscope sticker.

Instagram is testing new ways to interact with creators' content. Whether it's stories or posts, improvements to the app seem to be on the way.

Share a comment in story

Instagram is testing a new option for sharing comments in story. As you can see below, Instagram is considering the introduction of a "share in story" button, on post comments. Although the call to action won't appear directly on all comments, users will simply need to slide their finger to the left to bring up the sharing option.

An option already available on TikTok

Once again, Instagram's innovative idea isn't all that innovative, since TikTok has been offering the same option since 2020. If TikTok was the pioneer, Instagram isn't the only one to have decided to follow the idea. Since last June, YouTube has also been offering a shared reply option to comments on shorts videos.

It's an interesting idea, and one that does its best to respond to the problems of user engagement, with ever-increasing interaction options.

Instagram launches a Horoscope sticker:

Yes, you read that right. In a post published by Instagram developer Alessandro Paluzzi, there's a screenshot of a Horoscope sticker (named astrology on the English-language version). The option will be usable when publishing stories and reels, and will let your audience know your astrological sign, while offering users the chance to check their compatibility. In short, Instagram is taking on the codes of certain dating sites such as Adopte or Tinder, which offer similar options.

Why buy a Horoscope sticker?

In recent months, the young adult public seems more interested in spirituality and astrology. On Instagram and TikTok, shamanism and witchcraft videos have become real trends. In just a few seconds of scrolling, we come across card-pullers, fortune-tellers, soul-crossers or even specialists in astrological signs and mirror hours. Although not attached to any particular religion, these content creators claim to follow the universe and the messages it sends them. By offering a horoscope sticker, we can imagine that Instagram has clearly identified the growing trend, and intends to ride the wave to offer its users a new means of engagement.

The horoscope sticker, when does it come out?

For the moment, the option is still in the testing phase and no release date has been announced. To be continued.
