Afffect - The B2B growth-generating agency

The most famous of streaming services had already surprised us with a number of new products and promotional campaigns, such as interactive films and a video game service. This time, the brand has decided to open stores .

Stores inspired by cult series

Planned for 2025, these stores will be inspired by the platform's iconic series. Two initial stores are already planned in the USA, based on Stranger Things and Squid Game.

Other stores are also planned for the future. Named Netflix House, it will be possible to buy souvenirs and collectibles in the colors of your favorite series.

So, with these new stores, Netflix wants to offer much more than just sales. These stores will also offer several immersive spaces.

Catering areas will be available. On the menu, while burgers and fries already seem to be on the menu, we can expect more sophisticated dishes, which can already be seen in the films and series produced by Netflix.

A logical next step for Netflix?

This isn't the first time Netflix has made collectibles available to fans of the platform. Pop-up stores have already opened all over the world. We all remember the one that was born on the Champs-Elysées, which took us back in time to the 1980s to immerse us in the hit series Stranger Things. An idea that has not yet been abandoned by the streaming service, which has announced the arrival of a pop-up store in Los Angeles around Squid Game, for a 70-minute immersive experience, next December.

A few months ago, an ephemeral restaurant opened in the same city, bringing together several Michelin-starred chefs who had taken part in various Netflix shows. With these different experiences, the platform's marketing department has observed just how much fans enjoy getting into the hit series offered by the brand.

In these new stores, which the brand hopes to make permanent, we can expect a clever mix of what the streaming site has already been able to offer.

This new project comes at a pivotal moment for the company. Indeed, before becoming a streaming site, Netflix rented DVDs to its subscribers. A service that has been in place since its creation in 1997, and which has just come to an end.

One thing's for sure, these stores promise a total immersive experience that fans are already looking forward to. While the first stores will be set up in the United States, we can expect the chain to be deployed in several major cities around the globe, such as Tokyo, Mexico City and Paris.
