Instagram: a new option for sharing stories with multiple groups of followers is coming

Instagram is currently developing an option for sharing stories, with multiple groups of followers simultaneously.

Since the last quarter of 2022, Instagram has been addressing one of the key issues facing social networks: how to cope with changing consumer habits. And by changes, we're talking about users' growing interest in closed conversation groups, and the ever-increasing lack of engagement for public posts.

In the face of these changes, Instagram continues to pay more attention to small groups and private interactions.

With this in mind, Instagram is currently developing an option for sharing stories with multiple groups of followers simultaneously.

Instagram: a new option for sharing stories

In his private conversation group (aka broadcast channel), Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri shared a preview of Instagram's latest option. As you can see from the illustration, you'll soon be able to choose multiple conversation groups to share your stories with.

Since 2018, Instagram has offered the "close friends" option, allowing you to list all the people you want to share content with in a single group. In 2023, Instagram is going one step further, as you'll soon be able to create diverse groups, name them, and share targeted content with them.

Instagram: more precise targeting

Clearly, this option was originally designed for individuals and content creators, but for us entrepreneurs and businesses, this new segmentation option is a godsend. By segmenting your subscribers, you'll be able to provide clear answers to their needs, with more personalized content that's totally in tune with their expectations. In this way, your churn rate could go down, and your engagement rate up.

When does it come out?

As always, Instagram remains particularly vague about the release dates of its new options. This latest update is no exception, as Instagram has made no official announcement on the subject. To be continued.
