"Max the Menace": the cat who terrorizes his neighborhood creates a buzz on TikTok

Equipped with an onboard camera, "Max the Menace" keeps order in his neighborhood and fascinates TikTok.

On TikTok, Max la Menace has earned himself a reputation as a petty thug. Videos of the cat terrorizing his neighborhood rack up millions of views.

Max the menace, the cat you don't want to meet.

Max is a three-year-old tomcat with bright eyes and a shiny coat. Equipped with an onboard camera, Max the Menace wreaks havoc by chasing down other neighborhood cats. Rescued from a local shelter and adopted by a local family, this feisty feline quickly became the boss of his street and of TikTok. Max climbing on a roof, Max stealing kibble from dogs, Max breaking into neighbors' houses, Max playing with children... Each new epic of Max the Menace creates a buzz since its owner shares his adventures on TikTok under the username @max20499.

"Max the menace": the star of TikTok

Although its owner has been posting Max videos since April, it's only since the beginning of October that they've been a hit on TikTok, with some videos reaching tens of millions of views. To date, 2.2 million subscribers follow the adventures of "Max the Menace". And although he wreaks havoc in the neighborhood, TikTokers see Max as a modern-day hero, as content creator Hailey notes: " He doesn't hurt kittens or old cats," and his attacks don't seem random: " It looks personal. He was probably getting picked on, and now he's hitting back." Many also wonder who owns the little terror. "Who put a camera on this John Cena [named after an American wrestler] cats?" asks one user. By taking a closer look at the videos, and in particular at the license plates Max comes across in his adventures, web inspectors have come to the conclusion that Max the Menace is located in China.

Max the Menace may terrorize his neighborhood, but the comments under each of his videos are also very funny. " I'm trying to explain to my cat that we can't go to China at Christmas because Max is on the loose," laughs one user. " I don't want peace I want problems" comments another under a video of Max the Menace bitching at another feline. Others post videos of their cats watching Max's fights as a warning. On social networks, the craze is such that many Internet users are now sharing videos of the little terror that they too are sheltering under their roofs.

But Max is much more than a star on TikTok. In fact, his outlandish escapades have brought the locals together, who share anecdotes with each other and even organize little get-togethers to watch the new adventures of the cat who thought he was a lion.
